Glee Workshop

This class models the hit FOX TV show about an enthusiastic teacher who, against many obstacles, tries to bring a high school glee club into the spotlight. Aimed at the underdog in all of us, the show features pop songs from the past and present, sung by a group of teens who just might prove all their doubters wrong.  Express your inner "Gleek" with this fun and creative class. Students will discover and enhance their vocal skills in a unique and upbeat choir. Students will have the enjoyment of performing with a group and solo opportunities are available!  Follow the musical journey of Glee's New Directions with arrangements of the show's hits for younger singers. The Gleek's will learn 4-6 songs and class will conclude with a performance for friends and family. This class is offered as a weekly class as well as a camp.

Blues Jam House

Discover and enhance your creative guitar abilities!  Intermediate students will learn how to improvise the blues and jam on the electric guitar in a fun and easygoing group environment.  Students should have a basic understanding and ability to play power/barre chords, as well as pentatonic scales to succeed in this class.  Other topics covered will include 8 and 12 bar structures, moveable scale positions, dynamics, and fun guitar licks. Class will conclude with a performance for friends and family.

TMR School of Rock

Students come together to learn to play together as a band.  Band members will choose repertoire with the assistance of their instructor and four songs will be learned over the eight week period.  Instrumentation includes guitar, bass, piano, drums and vocals.  Classes are divided into three different levels:  beginning, intermediate and advanced.  The beginning class is for students who have had one to two years of private study, or who have had some experience playing together in a band.  The intermediate class is for students who have had two to three years private study or who have had three prior School of Rock classes, or with instructor approval.  The advanced class is by audition only.  Audition criteria is listed here.  TMR School of Rock provides a fun and supportive environment in which to learn to play together with others.  Rockers learn teamwork and cooperation while building confidence.  Ensemble playing strengthens functional skills that have been established in private study. Class will conclude with a performance for friends and family.  This class is offered as a weekly class as well as a camp.

Adult Guitar Jam

Adults 18 and over with moderate playing experience get together and jam in a structured setting. Each week we will explore a new approach to concepts in blues, country and rock.  Special emphasis is placed on improvisation in each style.
