Ian McGarrie

Ian McGarrie graduated from Elmhurst College in 2007 with his bachelors degree in Jazz Studies. His education included studies at both Harper College and Berklee College of Music. Ian has performed in numerous bands, venues and performance halls across the country, including the Elmhurst College Jazz Band, Progressive Rock Band and the Midwest Grammy Band. He was awarded Outstanding Soloist at the Elmhurst Jazz Festival, the Union League Club Jazz Improvisation Award Winner in June 2006 and was selected to perform at DePaul University in preparation for performance at the Grammy Award Ceremony.


Ian has played with musicians Mark Colby, Frank Caruso, Bob Rummage, Ken Haebuch, Doug Beach, Patti Austin, Bob Mintzer, Steve Weiss, Bobby Shew and Dennis DiBlasio. He has performed in the Perugia Jazz Festival in Italy, the Viene Jazz Festival in France, the Birmingham Jazz Festival and the Wigan Jazz Festival in England, the Zagreb Jazz Festival in Croatia, as well as venues in Scotland, Wales and Austria.
