Making Up Missed Lessons
The Music Room will help you make up your missed lesson within the following parameters:
Notify the desk (not your teacher) if you will be missing a lesson. Teachers do not have access to the scheduling calendar.
We assist students in making up their missed lessons pending availability on our schedule. When a student informs the desk of a lesson cancellation, that time slot will be made available on a “first come first served” basis to other students looking to make up a lesson.
Available openings may be viewed on our online calendar. The online calendar can be accessed by clicking on the calendar link at the top of each page. Available make up opportunities are listed in red with the word “opening” after the teacher’s name. If the spot has been filled, it will be indicated.
If you see an opening that fits into your schedule, call us at 847/934-5440 during business hours to reserve the spot. Anyone who answers the phone can help you. Teachers do no have access to the online calendar and cannot schedule makeup lessons for you. If you find an opening after business hours, email Carol and the spot will be reserved for you after hours.
Lessons can be made up at any time, as long as the student is active. Makeups do not expire and do not have to be made up in the same week, month or session as the missed lesson. We do not keep track of students’ missed lessons. There are no refunds, monetary credits or lesson credit slips issued for missed lessons.
All students have the option to make up lessons with a different teacher. A complete listing of teachers, the instruments they teach, and their biographies can be viewed on our staff page.
If you find an available opening that works with your schedule, call us at 847/934-5440 and we will reserve it for you. The calendar updates in real time so remember to refresh your browser often!
The progress of each music student depends on regular and consistent attendance. The Music Room prides itself on attracting the highest quality professional teaching staff to foster each student’s progress. Teachers are compensated for their time, regardless of student attendance.
